Planning a session you can run off a sheet

Build the drill library first

Training → Drills. A drill is a name, a description, coaching points and a diagram you draw on a pitch — players, cones, runs and passes. Build it once and it is available to every session and every coach from then on.

Most clubs get more out of twenty drills they actually use than two hundred they inherited. Start with the ones you run every week.

Plan the session

Schedule → Planning lists every session and whether it has been planned, newest first, because the one you are writing up is nearly always the next one. Open a session and add blocks:

• A start time for each block, so the plan is a timetable rather than a list
• A title, and notes for what you are actually coaching
• A drill from the library, or a diagram drawn for this session alone

A past session works as the template for the next one. Most weeks are a copy with two blocks changed, and that is the point.

Print it

Every plan prints to a single clean sheet — times, blocks, diagrams and coaching points, without the interface around it. Coaches who want paper on the touchline get paper; nobody has to squint at a phone in the rain.

Availability and attendance

Send the availability request when the session goes in the schedule. Players answer in, out or not sure, with a note if there is a reason. The portal chases the ones who have not answered inside a window you set, capped, and only during civil hours.

Availability is what they said; attendance is what happened. Record attendance on the night — it feeds each player's record, and a run of missed sessions is the kind of thing that is obvious in a column and invisible in a group chat.

Recorded against the session itself, so it lands in the player's career record rather than in someone's memory.
